Membership Growth Lead
Position Overview
The Membership Development & Sales Manager leads membership growth, retention, and sponsorship sales for the Chamber. This role is focused on building strong relationships within the business community, driving revenue through memberships and sponsorships, and ensuring members are actively engaged and receiving value.
Working closely with the Events and Communications teams, this position connects businesses to Chamber programs, events, and advocacy initiatives—while Events leads execution, and Communications supports promotion.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth & Sales

Recruit new members through proactive outreach, networking, and referrals

Maintain and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM (ChamberMaster)

Clearly communicate the value of Chamber membership to prospective businesses

Meet or exceed annual membership growth targets
Member Retention & Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with existing members

Conduct regular check-ins and identify opportunities to increase engagement
-
Support onboarding of new members to ensure early connection and value

Monitor retention and proactively address at-risk memberships
Sponsorship Sales & Revenue Development

Assist with sales of sponsorship opportunities across all Chamber events and programs

Work with Events to align sponsor needs with event opportunities (Events executes delivery)

Achieve revenue targets tied to sponsorship and membership
Events as a Sales & Engagement Tool

Promote events as a key driver of member value and recruitment

Attend Chamber events to build relationships and generate leads

Support member and sponsor connections at events (Events team leads logistics)
Advocacy & Member Value

Communicate the Chamber’s advocacy work and impact to members

Gather business feedback to inform Policy & Advocacy priorities

Connect members to relevant committees, programs, and opportunities
Data & Performance

Maintain accurate member and prospect data in CRM

Track and report on membership growth, retention, and sales activity

Monitor engagement trends and identify opportunities for improvement
Qualifications

Experience in sales, business development, or account management (B2B preferred)

Strong relationship-building and communication skills

Proven ability to meet sales or revenue targets

Organized, self-motivated, and community-focused

Experience with CRM systems (ChamberMaster an asset)
