SUMMER STUDENT EVENT COORDINATOR
(Canada Summer Jobs Position)
The Summer Student Event Coordinator supports the planning and delivery of Chamber events and community initiatives. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and being part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Event Support
Assist with planning and executing events including networking events, workshops, and community initiatives
Help coordinate logistics such as setup, registration, materials, and teardown
Provide on-site support to ensure events run smoothly
Other duties as required
Event Promotion
Assist in creating and sharing event promotions (social media, posters, email)
Support updating event listings on the website and registration platforms
Engage with audiences online to help promote upcoming events
Administration
Track event registrations and attendance
Assist with record maintenance
Assist with post-event feedback and reporting
Maintain event supplies and materials
Community Engagement
Act as a friendly, professional representative at events
Support positive experiences for all stakeholders
Special Events & Farmers’ Market
Assist with Farmers’ Market operations and special community events as needed
Work Saturdays at the St. Albert Farmers’ Market

WHAT YOU BRING:
Strong organization and time management skills
Positive attitude and strong communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
Previous event, volunteer, or customer service experience is an asset

HOURS OF WORK:
Mon/Tues/Thurs – 8:30am – 4:30pm in the office
Saturday – 7:00am – 4:00pm at the market

POSITION DETAILS:
Term: 16 weeks (Summer 2026)
Hours: Full-time (30–40 hours/week)
Eligibility:
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
